A Fitting Tribute

On behalf of Maria's family I would like to thank everyone who was involved in organising her funeral,  those who attended, who sent cards, flowers and whose thoughts were with us on this special day.

Despite being a very sad day for all of us, it was a fitting tribute that allowed us to revel in our memories and express everything that we felt for her. She gave so much during her life and this was a great show of generosity from all those whose lives she touched in some way and who wanted to participate in this celebration of her life.

The deep sadness and anxiety that we all felt at the start of the day was gradually lifted, to be replaced by happy memories as friends and family shared stories of good times and funny anecdotes. It was as if Maria was with us- enjoying it with us. I know she would have loved it!

On Tuesday 11th March, St. Mary's School had a special mass for Mrs. O'Connor and it was a wonderful show of emotion and support for the family. It was a moving tribute to a great teacher. Thank you to everyone involved.

It's so hard to express what we feel at this sad time but the emptiness can be filled with our wonderful memories of Maria, so I have created this place for us to share how we feel.
