In our thoughts

A year ago today, Maria passed away. It's been a long, sad year., a year full of "first times" without Maria, a year full of many sad moments when we tried to come to terms with her absence, but also so many moments that we remembered her with love, smiling to ourselves thinking about the good times we shared with her. The good thing is that however you feel when you think of Maria, happy or sad, it is clear that the impact that she had on all those whose lives she touched, continues even when she is not with us, and we will never forget her.
Those who knew her well, know that she would want us to laugh, cry and express what we feel, but to be strong and face life with the positive spirit she had, without forgetting those touches of irony that she loved to throw in!
We love you Maria and we miss you.

I've just got home from the Mass that was dedicated to Maria's anniversary and the quick get together afterwards - how much life moves on in a year. Danny you looked so very dapper today, Olivia you always look stunning and it was lovely to see Maddy bouncing in from Children's Liturgy in her colourful purples - Maria would have been so very proud of her gorgeous family.
Maria's name still comes up so often in staff meetings, she is still getting us to work hard for her beloved Literacy ;-)
Life at St Mary's isn't the same without you, Maria, you are missed, but you are also remembered with true love and affection by all who knew you xxx
    Rest well xxx

  2. It's so comforting to know that Maria´s family has so much loving support, I feel that this is the result of her generosity and good work over the years, and all the love and care she bestowed on her family which gives them the strength they need. She would be so proud of you all.

  3. Amanda and I still have the flowers, now beautifully dried, from Maria's funeral celebration, in our classroom. They are laying in front of the statue of Mary, like an offering of Maria's life. Cannot bear to throw them away. We often say a prayer in remembrance of our good friend. Susanna x
